Computers you will find in the Library of Birmingham
As long as you have a library card, you can book a computer session by clicking 'book a library computer' in the Links box.
As a library member, you may book up to nine hours per week. The maximum length of a session is three hours. You must take a break of 30 minutes between any two sessions. You will be warned when your session is coming to an end. If you finish early, please log out to keep your unused time.
Bookings can be made up to 7 days in advance.
Please note. If you arrive late, time is deducted from your session and if you arrive 10 minutes late your session is cancelled.
These computers are located on the Lower Ground Floor, Lower Terrace, Levels 2 and 3. The computers in the Children's Library by children and young people.
Printing is self-service. You can print at any printer in the Library. Please check the Print Preview to confirm the pages you want to print. Please make a note of your JobCode as you will need this to print your documents.

Children’s Internet CH03 for use by children only
LoB Express - Short Session
On the Lower Terrace there is a mix of short session computers that you may use for 30 minutes without booking and ones you can book for up to 3hrs as long as you have a library card. These are available during LoB Express hours which are Mon - Fri 9.00am to 8.45pm and Sat 11.00am to 4.45pm
These are located on Level 3. Please ask staff to log you in. You can access various databases and learning packages on these terminals.
Touch-Screen Information Points
You will find these on every floor. They give you quick access to the catalogue, self-service joining, answers to some frequently asked questions and a guide to some highlights of the building, plus floor guides and a subject index.
Digital Fiche/Microform Readers
These allow you to print or scan from library fiche or film. They are located on Levels 2 and 4.
When you first book a 'reader', a staff member will show you how to use it.
