The members of the Library of Birmingham Senior Management Team are
Val Birchall,Assistant Director for Culture & Visitor Economy
Val is responsible for leading services including arts, museums, heritage, visitor economy and major events as well as the city’s strategic library service. The strategic library service comprises the Library of Birmingham, Mobile Library, Library Service at Home, Prison Library, library strategy and services to support community libraries including book stock and IT.
Dawn Beaumont, Head of Library Services Dawn is responsible for leading on library services at the Library of Birmingham these include; Reader Services and Stock Management, Business and Learning Services including the reception and retail functions, services to Children and Young People, the Music Service and the LOB Express self-service offer. Dawn also leads on the Prison Library Service, the Mobile Library and Library Services At Home.
David Potts, Head of Library Resources David is responsible for leading the Archives and Collections service as well as Information Technology services. He also leads the Building Operations Team which maintains the technical systems keeping the building operational on a day-to-day basis including its security. David oversees the Venue Hire function looking after the management of all the event spaces at the Library of Birmingham.
