Birds of America was the creation of naturalist John James Audubon. It features the 435 colour engravings of every American bird species. Measuring over three feet in height and running to four volumes, The Birds of America was created between 1827 and 1838 and remains one of the world's most expensive books.
Ariel's Song - The image comes from The Forrest Collection of Scrapbooks acquired by H R Forrest of Manchester in 1890. It forms part of the extensive Shakespeare Collection housed within the Library of Birmingham.
