Love books and reading? Love creative events and activities? Love working with children and families?
The Big Friendly Reading Challenge 2016, challenges children aged 4-12 to read up to 6 books, receiving rewards along the way.
We are looking for young volunteers (aged 15-24 years) who love books and reading. Volunteers will be introducing library visitors to the Summer Reading Challenge.
Volunteer roles are varied but might include:
•Helping library staff to administer the Challenge.
•Talking to children about the books they've been reading.
•Helping with summer activities.
•Helping to create in-library displays.
We wanted people who are
•Friendly and enjoy talking to people
•Enthusiastic about reading
If you have a couple of hours spare each week and are interested in helping out at a Birmingham Library this summer, please download and complete the attached form. There are separate forms depending on whether you are interested in volunteering for a Community Library or the Library of Birmingham.
