Marie visited West Heath, Weoley Castle, Kings Norton and Yardley Wood Libraries.
Marie was talking about and reading from her book The
Library Ladies and the Body Behind the Library. This cosy mystery is a light hearted, amusing story involving the ghost of an ex-library assistant and some amateur sleuthing among a group of friends. Marie also signed copies of her book at the end of her event.
About the book
When the library ladies discover the decomposing body of an ex library assistant behind their little library, they are happy to let the police investigate – well mostly. The police think the victim died accidentally while planning to break into a house behind the library and scale down their investigation. But the library ladies know differently! With enthusiastic snooping and determination to get justice for poor Barry, the eclectic bunch set out to find out what happened with the only clues being a shopping trolley coin from Tesco and the ghost of the victim.
More about the author
Marie has worked in libraries, including the ones she uses in her books for 10 years. She says that the mix of lovely, interesting and bizarre people that use libraries have given her rich pickings for her stories. Marie also draws from her family and other friends to build the relationships in the stories. She is aiming for a Famous Five book mixed with Miss Marple for the type of stories she wants to write and thinks it is really important to make the reader smile.
